I received my FISHING GUIDE LICENSE from the STATE OF MAINE DEPARTMENT OF INLAND FISHERIES AND WILDLIFE on 7/22/1998 and my RECREATION GUIDE LICENSE on 3/15/1999. On April 27, 2000 I passed my HUNTING GUIDE TEST to become a MASTER MAINE GUIDE.
I have been fishing all my life, primarily in MAINE. For the last several years I have been building a file of fishing information from my experiences and from local sporting magazines and newspapers. I fish for bass (largemouth and smallmouth) about 40% of the time and trout/salmon most of the other 60% with an occasional striper adventure now and then. I fish with either spinning rods/artificial lures or flyrods/flies. I am also primarily a catch and release angler, however, will enjoy a fresh fish fry over a campfire once in a while. Someday I hope to guide full time, but realize that I am still learning where the fish are and perfecting methods to entice them to strike. Logistically I've got a canoe' and a 17' Lund, and need to create some guide packages for day trips and extended adventures (now I can include extended camping/hiking trips), establish some lodging options, etc. I am familiar with a lot of the waters in Central Maine, the Greenville / Moosehead area, and Millinocket / Baxter State Park, however, for now I am not going to market my services. I also like to hunt, but, have to confess that I prefer to fish. I have several hunting friends that are serious hunters that provide guide services and I often contribute to their adventures. Now here is my only exception - I enjoy the moose hunt so much that I would guide one. I always have a good time moose hunting!
